Hi.

Welcome to the Living Boldly blog! You will find post about my adventures, shenanigans, and never ending quest to live life boldly.

The Farewell Tour

The Farewell Tour

If you asked a tourist “What is the best part of Alaska?”, they will likely remark on the breath taking scenery, majestic wildlife, or quality selection of local craft breweries in the state. I am here to tell you those people have it completely and utterly wrong. The best parts of Alaska, by far, are the amazing people who call the 49th State home.

In the weeks leading up to our move, Pat and I set out on what we are dubbing the “farewell tour” with the goal of spending as much time with the people we care about before leaving the state. We met up with friends for dinners, hikes, and last minute adventures. We have been genuinely humbled by the outpouring of support and well wishes we received and are truly gratefully for everyone who carved out time in their busy summer schedules to see us.

I feel so incredibly fortunate to call Alaska my home and to call all of these amazing people friends. While I prepare to physically leave this state for a while, I will always carry a piece of Alaska with me and I am certain I will be back. Alaska and its people have shaped me into the person I am today. It has fueled my sense of adventure, challenged me to be resourceful, and inspired me to live boldly.
